Steve, I wept when I read it, and I wept again when you told it. The Lord came looking for me, too.

I wonder how many broken relationships in the Body of Christ could be restored if only one party or the other would just show up and say, "Please, come home." [/guilty]

Thank you Steve. I can't help but think that if I had been exposed to the truth spoken here while I was growing up I could have avoided so much heartache. But I can't change what has happened. What I can change is the way I engage others. Like Dorsey said, I need to reach out to the hurting world around me and say, "please, come home". I also think that in addressing the hurts of the lost by illuminating for them the real Jesus my own hurts will begin to heal. I found out Friday night after my neighbors house burned to the ground and I was forced to face my own cowardice how desperately I needed to be hugged and shown Jesus and how few of my "christian" peers were available or willing to do so. It was a hurtful realization and I am still feeling blindsided but instead of dwelling on how I had been overlooked I got up the next morning and addressed the emotional needs of my neighbor as he stood alone in front of his destroyed house. It was not an easy choice to make because I didn't know what to say but then as I walked up to him he reached out for a hug. My just being there and being available to address the heart issue was healing for us both. I think this is the only way we will convince even christians of the true personality of our Father…by extending love and comfort even when we've been passed over.

Hi ya Steve and all,

Thought I would just leave this for anyone who reads these…as you know when we have spoke before, the saying God won't put more on you than you can bear is a fallacy, as you know my life reflects. But that is why in our weakness HE is made strong…and in that strength is where we get the ability to make it. HE wants to carry us , but not just in the bad but also the good. And that is why I belive He does put more on us …to draw us to Him.

But it is the otherside of that I struggle with and prehaps that is my god that I need to put down….

The next time someone says God didn't promise us a rose garden, think about this, maybe HE did….cause is there more flowers…or is there more thorns…in a rose garden……
