Masks and Gurus

Erik Guzman July 30th, 2007

There are no super-Christians and, if you've found one, you have demeaned yourself. What's more, once you have demeaned yourself by finding a "guru," you subject yourself to a prison of shame, guilt, and impossible expectations.

On this edition of the Scandalous Freedom Podcast, Steve not only reveals the truth behind our masks, he de-masks the people we deify.

One Response to “Masks and Gurus”

Elaine February 11th, 2011

I had to laugh while I was listening to this. I was thinking about that verse "bad company corrupts good morals" in respect to the church. You know there are many people in the church who are just bad company. In fact, if you are in danger of bad company corrupting your morals, church may be the last place you should be hanging out. :-) Don't get me wrong, I love my brothers and sisters in Christ, and I'm not stupid enough to believe that I'm any better. For me though, it tends to be easier to tell who the real scumbags are in the world than in the church because they aren't trying to cover it up. I love the fact that when it comes right down to it we aren't any different than "those worldly folk", and I'm glad someone is finally admitting it openly. It would be really great if we could just admit it and get over it. So I'll do it now. I'm not any different than any other non-believer, that's why I still need a Savior. Thank you God!
