The Failure We Foster

Erik Guzman October 8th, 2007

Many Christians live in a prison of failure. They aren't free and they don't succeed because they don't think they deserve it.

A misunderstanding of success, humility, and the law mixed up with bad psychology and worse theology have produced churches full of guilty people with a guilty preacher standing in the pulpit, telling the guilty people that they should feel guiltier. Can you think of a better recipe for failure?

Join Steve Brown for the Scandalous Freedom Podcast #24 as he clarifies some terms and cuts through the chains that keep us from becoming all God would have us to be.

While I love my grandmother dearly. The woman could out guilt any pastor around, and I have fallen victim to that guilt and expectation of failure through out my life because of not only her but some pastors and other family members. Its a shame really that it happens but it does. I am however with the help of God and your book Scandalous Freedom overcoming this a little at a time. Thank you SOOOO much for writing it and I would love to hear you talk about it live someday. Do you ever teach it to more than just mens conventions?
