Red-Letter Christians
Erik Guzman November 30th, 2007
When choosing teams, everyone wants Jesus on their side. The Religious Right has been scoring political points with Jesus for years. Red-Letter Christians have responded by focusing on the words of Jesus and trying to portray him as a free political agent.
Tony Campolo says, "We [Red-Letter Christians] are people who want to assure that Jesus is neither defined as a Republican nor a Democrat." But are they actually playing ball with a new team in town…the Religious Left?
(Okay, I'll stop with the sports metaphor now. Sorry. I got carried away.)
Tony and Stan Guthrie stopped by SBE this week to talk about Stan's recent Christianity Today article titled, When Red is Blue: Why I am not a Red-Letter Christian.
