Skewering with Satire

Erik Guzman December 28th, 2007

Religious satirist and senior contributing editor for The Wittenburg Door, Becky Garrison stopped by SBE this week. We talked about satire and atheists and some other stuff that I don't remember right now.

(Give me a break. This was recorded weeks ago and I'm on vacation.)

I do remember that this was a good show, yet uncomfortable. Steve and Becky are from opposite ends of the political spectrum. That's nothing new for our show, but there was a disturbance in the force…something familiar…

Becky is a regular contributor to the God's Politics blog and author of The New Atheist Crusaders and Their Unholy Grail and Red and Blue God, Black and Blue Church

I now return me to my regularly scheduled vacationing.

Thank you for inviting me to chat.

Actually I am a registered "independent" voter who has cast the lever for both Republicans and Democrats, as well as the occasional green party, libertarian and other party persons. As I state in "The New Atheist Crusaders and Their Unholy Grail," I laugh whenever I get called liberal because when I was at YDS, I was branded "conservative" by more enlightened seminarians because I believed in the resurrection, liked to use male pronouns when talking about Jesus and founded the YDS Evangelical Fellowship.

I would wear that t-shirt, Mr. Rogers.

TGIF! (how's that for a campaign slogan?)
