On this week's SBE, author and film reviewer Jeffrey Overstreet joined us to discuss the controversy surrounding The Golden Compass in the context of his most excellent Christianity Today piece, Fear Not the Compass.

Then, Rick McKinley stopped by to talk about an international movement "restoring the scandal of Christmas by worshiping Jesus through compassion, not consumption." It's called Advent Conspiracy and Rick tells us all about it and how it got started.

We even found time for some steroids in baseball comedy and a failed attempt at healing Cathy's cold.
