Bella – Eduardo Verįstegui on SBE

Erik Guzman May 23rd, 2008

"Behold my hotness."Eduardo Verįstegui joined us on Steve Brown Etc. this week to talk about his critically acclaimed movie Bella, the journey that led him to Hollywood and the reason he's there. Use one of the options below to listen.

Bella was one of the most honored films of 2007 – including the coveted People's Choice Award at the Toronto Film Festival. Eduardo plays the role of Jose in the movie, a man who had money, fame and success, but didn't find what really matters in life until he lost it all. A story not dissimilar to Eduardo's.

Good show! I wish however that Steve had more time to really unpack what it means to be salt and light in the world no matter how dark the industry. I think that Eduardo's story was a great example of what it means to influence the world for the kingdom instead of demonizing it and applying a sectarian approach. I know that the young lady was trying to inject humour into the show but I was getting a little annoyed with the constant gushing, it took away from the show a little bit and gave Eric permission to trivialize what the guy was bringing to the table. Because the subject matter was so unusual it still managed to get me to think about how I look at my job and making a difference at work. You guys are gonna have a great time interviewing Tim Keller, he really emphasises influencing culture using a kingdom/gospel approach, I can't wait for that show! I gotta admit I was very happy to know that my two favorite Christian speakers are going to be on the same podcast!
