Erik Guzman July 30th, 2008

"Luckily, Chistianity is not a club."Sara Miles is the author of Take This Bread: A Radical Conversion, a book that tells the story of how eating Jesus' flesh and drinking His blood changed her life.

The recent SBE program with Sara has the emails and comments flying. So, on this edition of Etcetera we talk about Sara's radical conversion and how, for some, it's not radical enough.

Thank you for this podcast. I understand what the bible says about homosexuality, and I do not dispute that. But it upsets me how Christian made homosexuality the #1 sin, and are casting a blind eye to divorce (even though we are protecting marriage) or gluttony.

This was a beautiful of grace and redemption that was not the result of a church outreach program. I appreciate Sarah's story, and her mission. If I only read books of people or listened to podcast of people I only agree with in theology then…well I would have nothing to listen to.

Also thanks to the crew for sharing their story. My best friend is a Christian and gay so I have witnessed first hand their spiritual struggle.

The bit about communion being why you go to church; I can dig that! Whenever I go for a few weeks without going to church, it's communion that makes me wanna get back. The funny thing is, I spent a LONG time in a denomination that doesn't do weekly communion. In visiting a church that had weekly Eucharist, I realized I was missing something. Good stuff!
