Who Are You & What Do You Want? – Ukleja & Lorber on SBE

Erik Guzman October 10th, 2008

No, this isn't a program about Jehovah's Witnesses.

If you find yourself working toward others' goals instead of living from your center, check out this show. Nationally respected leadership coaches Dr. Mick Ukleja and Dr. Robert Lorber join us on this edition of Steve Brown Etc. to talk about Four-Dimensional Thinking and how it can change the course of your life.

(If you're on the front page of the site, click "Read More" to see audio player options.)

In their book, Who Are You and What Do You Want?, Ukleja and Lorber take you through a self-interrogating process that helps you define your self and your needs while providing clarity about your purpose, passions and goals. Not only that, they also help you create a plan to help you reach those goals.

Good show guys and I for one am glad it was a radio show given the visual image you gave us to kick it off the broadcast.

I jotted down three things while taking in the conversation:

1. "Man's got to know his limitations" – Dirty Harry

2. A lot of this material sounds like something Jim Collins would right — check out his Good To Great book and website — in particular the three circles (same concept — though the name in the circles changes a little)

3. Proverbs 16:9 (a verse I scribe in most of the day planners I've used over the years) "In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps." :-)

Have a great week-end!

Still important to be realistic about goals too…

*crosses off his list*
- invent "free energy" machine
- win the Iditarod

*adds to list*
- sample every available flavor of jelly bellies
- remember birthdays of my immediate family

and yes, I bought the book.
