Tony sure surprised me with his "Babylon" comments…however…I couldn't agree more….Indeed everythihg that can be shaken will be shaken. It's is nice and feels good to try to put as much positive spin on what is or may be happening with the economy…but if you are someone who has lost a job, cannot find one and has since lost all…positive thinking just doesn't get it don. I know, my collapse came more than 10 years ago. I also for over a year met weekly with a group of men (50 plus years old) who had experience downsizing. These men were all engineers, software developers, and professionals who afte years of looking had found no place for them in the new economy. Some were "lucky" enough to be able to still live off of the severance packages and money and assets formerly acquired.

i also met with those who had lost all, who were former skilled and semi skilled factory workers for whom there was not place in the new service economy. Many were baby boomers…some had re-financed, cashed out and after years of searching for some "job" that would keep them afloat…they had lost their homes, their security and were now facing homelessness. Some had lost their health, some had even lost their minds. I too lost it all. My career, my security, my home, my "self-esteem" …my house built upon the sand came crashing down.

In the midst of the fall of Babylon in my life, I looked up and called upon the name of the Lord, in whom I formerly professed to believe but in whom I never had to "trust".

since then he haws been refitting this old barnacle encrusted hulk of a man and after much tribulation I have learned to depend on Him. If this nation is Being shaken …and I believe it is. If our economic system is to collapse and with it many of our "religious" institutions, I pray that the blessing will be a great turning to him and a discovery of His lov and power. As things continue to tumble down I can now stand firm on a foundation not made with human hands.

I wish there had been an e=asier way to get my attention…but I grateful that He did!

You might need to change the Auxilium commercial. It sounds much too similar to the "Celebate" one. I thought it was a joke at first. But good show, I always enjoying hearing Tony.

I always enjoy listening to Tony and Steve. Every conversation feels complete, thoughtful, joyful and challenging. This show is no exception.

This was a great way to wrap up the year.

I see someone has already commented on the Auxillium commercial. When I hear it, it reminds me of eHarmony. What do they do? Match churches and prospective pastors on 29 areas of compatibility?

BTW – How do they guarantee that their services are under the guidance of the Holy Spirit? Instead of AS9000 certification, do they have HS9000?

I sure hope that the Auxillium commercial is a spoof! If not, it just continues to speak to the decadence of the religious system of which I was previously a part.
