Why the Universe Is the Way It Is – Dr. Hugh Ross on SBE

Erik Guzman January 2nd, 2009

Do science and the Bible offer contradictory answers to life's biggest questions? Peer-reviewed astrophysicist Dr. Hugh Ross doesn't think so. Instead, he offers a vision of a universe finely tuned by God to support the free lives of His children, while cosmic physics is optimized to solve the problem of evil.

Join Dr. Ross on this edition of Steve Brown Etc. as he offers compelling reasons to believe that our universe "shouts loudly that life is more than a cosmic accident."

Hugh Ross (PhD, University of Toronto) is founder and president of Reasons to Believe as well as a frequent speaker on college campuses and at science conferences. Dr. Ross has authored a bunch of books, his latest being Why the Universe Is the Way It Is.

Good work guys. I really enjoyed the show. Dr. Ross is a winsome speaker and you all got him to really delve into this topic. Unlike the guy a few weeks ago, Ross supported his points and even gave perspective to his opponents I've added the book to my list – don't know if I'll get to it anytime soon, but he made a compelling case for it.

It's interesting to me how many old-earth creationists are around and getting run these days. I grew up in an environment that just took young earth creationism for granted. It's definitely something to think about.

I'm usually bored to death by these topics, but he was pretty engaging. Great show!
