Will Jesus Buy Me a Double-Wide? – Karen Spears Zacharias on SBE
Erik Guzman March 19th, 2010
From The Secret to prosperity gospel preachers, we're told that our thoughts and actions can attract good things to us. Muster up enough good vibrations or faith in God and you can be healthy, wealthy and wise. But when the formula doesn't work, where does that leave the faithful?
Join us as we talk about that with Karen Spears Zacharias, author of Will Jesus Buy Me a Double-Wide?: ('Cause I Need More Room for My Plasma TV). Karen writes,
"I know without question that God's love for me or his favor towards me is not manifested in whether I live at the end of a dirt road in a trailer or around the emerald bend in a gated community…God's love is not evident in our net worth at all."
If you're going through a tough time, listen to today's SBE for some hope in the dark.
Karen's work has appeared in the New York Times and Newsweek, on NPR and more. She's also the author of Where's Your Jesus Now and the nationally-acclaimed After the Flag Has Been Folded. Don't miss Karen's previous appearance on SBE.
