So how can David come into God's presence when he is so wicked and arrogant? Because He is relying on the mercy of God. Check out 2 Samuel 7:14-15, and see what God promised David, and why David relies on the mercy of God. Those promises are extended to us through Jesus Christ (Acts 13:32-39) @brent

Well, I can recall one particular time when He was VERY unhappy with me - when I was trying to be Mr. Know-it-All and ruined someone's meal by saying, "Ugh - don't you know those microwave dinners are VERY unhealthy?" By the look on his face, the poor man lost his joy for eating his lunch, and in my heart - wow - I really felt that God was telling me "NEVER do that again!" - thankfull I haven't and it's been 15 years, so, God might not be mad at us, Steve - but He sure does get disappointed with us, and like Jesus "clearing the temple threshing floor" in the end His wrath will come upon the Earth - and that will be in the form of judgement instead of today's mercy, but even then His wrath will be mercy, since to let the world continue as it is would be unthinkable...
