Growing Old with Grace – Don Sweeting on SBE

Erik Guzman February 17th, 2012

People are living longer and putting off retirement until later and later in life. How does one grow old with grace?

(If you're on the front page of the site, click "Read More" to see audio player options.)

On this edition of Steve Brown Etc., Steve's boss from the seminary, Don Sweeting, stops by to talk about his new book How to Finish the Christian Life: Following Jesus in the Second Half. Let's face it, Steve could finish the Christian life any minute now and he needs the help. If you get something out of this program too, bonus!

Don Sweeting is the president of Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando and professor of church history. He wrote, How to Finish the Christian Life along with his dad, George Sweeting, the former president and chancellor of Moody Bible Institute.

Thanks for another great show – a great complement to your regular colorful cast of character confederacy. I am looking to finish strong myself, and staying away from the shellac. Two years ago this month I enjoyed an extended stay in Denver. I narrowed down my church visit choice to two that I knew nothing about; Cherry Creek Presbyterian and Scum of the Earth Church. For some reason Cherry Creek got the nod. A great fellowship that I knew was grieving the impending loss of their beloved pastor Dr. Sweeting. Enjoyed meeting him and being with that group. Next trip I'll give Scum of the Earth a visit. Denver's loss is of course a great gain for RTS Orlando.

Hi Steve! What fun. Thanks for having Don on your program. It was delightful to listen, laugh and think about it all. (By the way, my husband did NOT ask me to listen to this……I did it all on my own : )

Praise God that you are living life to its fullest for Kingdom purposes in this latter part of your life. You GO Steve!

Blessings,
Christina Sweeting
