Exodus to Speak Love – Alan Chambers on SBE

Since 1976, Exodus International tried to help homosexuals reorient their same-sex attraction through reparative therapy. As society grew more accepting of homosexuality over the years, Exodus grew increasingly controversial.
Then this past June, Exodus president Alan Chambers dropped a media bombshell when he apologized for the damage done by the reparative approach and announced that Exodus would be closing its doors for good.
"I am sorry for the pain and hurt many of you have experienced. I am sorry that some of you spent years working through the shame and guilt you felt when your attractions didn’t change. I am sorry we promoted sexual orientation change efforts and reparative theories about sexual orientation that stigmatized parents."
