Thank you so much for writing this! It was very enlightening and disciplining and encouraging. It appears to be easier than I thought to develop good habits and addictions, if we pay attention to our hearts and to the Lord, not the world or our minds. If we know what is good for us and want to stay healthy, we will perhaps find the choice between what is good to practice and what is not quite clear, and be willing to turn toward God and away from ourselves. This message is a great blessing, thank you for sharing God's truth with others!

Then, when a stripper invites you to a fun afternoon of burgers, beer & golf, you'll have the strength to refuse...

At which point, you bring out World of Warcraft.
NOBODY can refuse World of Warcraft; all it takes is one free sample login pass.

Hey Nun,

That's a good point and a common problem in today's CEO-mentality ministry.

What's interesting to me about this scripture is that it wasn't just doing the Lord's work. It was being "addicted to the ministry of the saints".

It denotes an attitude of service and submission, not ego or pride.

I think if we approach any type of ministry from that standpoint, whether it be formal ministry or service to our neighbor, we will remain true to our cause.

But what if you become addicted to the Lord's Work for the wrong reasons (ego feeding, needing to feel needed/more spiritual/etc.)?
