Steve, I didn't know where to put this, so I chose this conversation about your health. I'm a 36-year old pastor in a Baptist Chruch in Germany (Bremen) and I want to say a really big thanks for your work! I don't know if you knew that you have listeners in Europe, but hey - here is one! Your ministry has helped me in my preaching, ministering and in my own faith so much. Over the last, well maybe seven or eight years I listened to your stuff and often times it caused me to laugh, to cry and to stay on the course of grace. It also helped and helps me a lot not to take myself, us as Christians and as a church so seriously. And that really helps a lot, especially here in Europe, where a lot of people cannot connect with any instituionlized form of faith or religion at all. You call yourself a cynical guy. Well, maybe that's true but it is exactly your "cynism" connected with a very positive view of christ, grace and the church, that helps Christians in a desillusioned and postchristian culture like ours.
So I don't know if i speak for anyone else here in Europe, but God and you yourself would do me a very great favour if you could try staying around for a little while longer and go on teaching on freedom and grace.

I'm glad you have no Heralth problems. My wife from Blue Ridge Georgia; eats what she want, doesn't exercise (Except clean the house, chase grandkids, etc.) has great health. I have high colesteral, and exercise 5 days a week, watch what I eat, and still have it. God has blessed you and her! Keep drivin this highway in overdrive!

It's good to hear that you are still with us, Steve. I still need your reminders. I'm teaching English at a little settlement school in Kentucky, now, and I've been asked to speak at chapel next week. I'm pretty well just taking my notes from your "How to Talk So People Will Listen" book. What a concept–affirm them, rather than bash them. I needed to hear that. Thank you.

You go to physicals and get good reviews. I'm 30, workout fairly regularly, and had high blood pressure. Of course the cuban coffee had something to do with it. That and stress from church work. I've got to learn how to deal with both, because man can only take so much of both! Keep truckin Steve. You have a fan down here in Bradenton.

You're probably healthy because you seem to be a relaxed person and you're honest and open. I tell you, that's the key to health; don't pretend to be what you're not, but work to be who God wants you to be. And for your openness and honesty and ability to be just, well, who you are, I admire you, even though I may not see eye to eye with you always.
