The House of Smite

Erik October 9th, 2007

Halloween is almost here. All the pagan kids are working on their costumes, decorating their houses, and dreaming of huge bags of candy.

Many Christians would urge them not to participate in the holiday, referencing its dark overtones and history. I say these children might as well enjoy themselves now, because they sure won't be having any fun when they're roasting in Hell for worshiping Satan.

If you're less calloused than I am, you may want to provide an alternative for the kid … (Read More)

News from the Future - Kim Jong Il

Erik October 2nd, 2007

North Korean leader Kim Jong Il welcomed South Korea's president to Pyongyang today, displaying scant enthusiasm while orchestrated crowds cheered the start of the second-ever summit between the divided Koreas since World War 2.

While Jong Il didn't seem very excited about the meeting, South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun optimistically commented on the heavily fortified Demilitarized Zone that separates the two Koreas stating, "I will make efforts to make my walk across the bord … (Read More)

Tasered Student: "I only wanted a unicorn."

Erik September 18th, 2007

A University of Florida student was Tasered and arrested yesterday after trying to ask U.S. Senator John Kerry about the 2004 election and other subjects during a campus forum. You can read all about it and see video of the incident on just about any online news site.

In those reports, you'll read that 21-year-old Andrew Meyer's microphone was cut off after asking Kerry whether he and Bush were both members of the secret society Skull and Bones at Yale University. Meyer became upset … (Read More)

SBE Comedy Classics - Man Church

Erik September 11th, 2007

No comedy bit has gotten more air time on Steve Brown Etc. than Man Church.

I don't know if guys listen to this and wish they had a Man Church in their town or if it strikes their funny bone because of the silliness of the concept coupled with the fact that this kind of thing actually does exist. Either way, Man Church definitely qualifies as an SBE comedy classic.

So, by popular demand, here it is…Man Church. Check it out, if you can handle it. Punk!

SBE Comedy Classics - Martha Stewart

Erik September 4th, 2007

Comedy is serious biznass here at Steve Brown Etc. Over the years, we've accumulated hundreds of bits in our comedy cache. Some of these nuggets never made it from the airwaves to the Internet. Some were posted on the old stevebrownetc.com, but are now dated.

However, recently we've been getting a lot of requests from people wanting to take a pratfall down memory lane with gems like Kerry-topia, Lil' Puffers Cigarettes, Man Church, E-Hormoney, and George Bush's State of the U … (Read More)

Bob Jones University

Matthew August 28th, 2007

If you haven't been keeping up with "˜The Jones', BJU is an uber-conservative private college in Greenville, SC, established in 1927. Many unfounded rumors surround the school, but just the basic, undisputed facts are themselves laughable enough.

Exhibit A: BJU refused to enroll blacks until 1971 and until 2000 had rules forbidding interracial dating. Yikes. Talk about putting the "˜mental' in "˜fundamentalist.'

The school has gradually been pulling its coll … (Read More)
