The Reincarnation of Gandhi in Cow-nseling

Erik Guzman July 31st, 2007

Many would like to possess the wisdom of a great man…or bovine, but few are willing to pay the price. Often extreme profundity is born of intense pain. Such is the case with our in-house guru, The Reincarnation of Gandhi.

Some things can take a lifetime (or more) to shake. Apparently, the contentment of cows is highly overrated.

The Lost Nixon Tapes

Matthew July 17th, 2007

When it comes to presidential controversy, Clinton is the Barry Bonds to Nixon's Hank Aaron. Sure, Clinton may have bested Nixon on paper, but in our hearts, no one could ever replace Tricky Dick. Truly, there will never be another Nixon (to kick around).

That's why we're so jazzed that the National Archives has just released a whole new batch of Nixon recordings. And if you thought you knew the man before, brother, take a listen. You don't know the half of it.

Here's the Skinny Weight Loss Clinic

Matthew July 10th, 2007

Steve Brown is a very open-minded guy, but there have been a few comedy gags we've done that pinged on the Brown-dar. These are the rarely-heard "Black Bits" and this week's best-of is one of them. It aired only once, after which we were given the clear directive "˜don't play that one again.'

We were simply shooting for satire, but maybe we went too far.

Considering it's summertime and swimsuit season, I'd say this ad is a public service (especially … (Read More)

An Open Letter from Mother Nature to Al Gore

Matthew July 3rd, 2007

Smashing Pumpkins. Ludacris. Fall Out Boy. Al Gore.

Come on, sing it with me now… "One of these things is not like the others, one of these things just doesn't belong."

And yet, at least for this weekend's Live Earth concerts, they do all go together in one great big worldwide, booty-shaking, fist-pumping, former vice presidential block party. Millions of marketing dollars invested, thousands of miles traveled, and countless man-hours spent, all to get out one simple m … (Read More)

Michael Moore – Real American Heroes

Matthew June 26th, 2007

God help me, I love Michael Moore. How can't you? His build is as rotund as his politics are misguided. And what he lacks in reason, he more than makes up for in vitriol.

Still not sold on not hating M-Squared? Consider this scenario…

You're flipping through the channels when you happen upon a clip of two-headed snake or a 100 pound toddler. What do you do? You stop. You stop and you stare. Your reaction isn't hate. No, your reaction is transfixed slack-jawed shock. If you c … (Read More)

Unhappy Meals

Matthew June 19th, 2007

There are deep cuts, and then there are deep cuts.

The idea for this bit began as a segment on a radio show I hosted at Samford University back in 1998. Like many college radio stations, WVSU was powered by two D batteries and had a signal that carried just beyond the handicapped spaces in the school's parking lot.

True, the college days are long gone, but at least our comedy is still sophomoric.

Until next time, pass the Prozac McNuggets.
