Thanks for continuing to do a show and posting it. I've never had the chance to call in (cuz of work) but like many others I too have come to see the weekly podcast as one of the highlights of my week.

Have you shipped the cameras and the questions? If the two you've chosen as starter project people produce what you referred to as a "Gospel ghetto," self-referential mosaic, will you send out a third camera/questions probe to maybe the indy Volvo mechanic in the area or girl selling Red Bull and lottery tickets at the place you buy gas?

I liked the guitar music, reminded me a little of something I remember the Ozark Mountain Daredevils doing.

I enjoyed the telemarketer part at the end of the show. I like to have fun with them sometimes too. Like in the middle of them talking start dialing and tell them they are holding up you line, etc…. But I made one speechless the other night… They were trying to sign me up for a credit card and I told them "I'm not interested". The telemarketer went on and said "I understand that sir…but blah blah blah" and then I responded "I dont think you do understand, becasue you keep talking"…. There must have been silence for like 10 seconds before I hung up…

Some people dont like telemarketers, but I think they can be fun

The interview type format seems to be starting. I enjoyed the show and the music.

In addition to the ordinary, extra ordinary, extraordinary, bizarre pass-it-along group, I think you should interview some of the Ping/Etcetera callers. The the rest of us can call in and ask questions, expand on topics, etc.

This approach will help you feel good about yourselves (Erik and Sharon). When the show goes well, you get 90%+ of the credit (e.g. "we did a really good interview with Dorsey"). If you get a dud, you can blame it on the guest (e.g. "Man, Chemical Erik was a lame interview"). You will also feel good about creating a format that gives validation to others, enforcing the validation sonar theme.

It just occurred to me today to be confused about this - are there two women on the podcasts here or only one - female voice on Steve Brown Etc. and female voice on Etc./Ping - are they the same? And before you get all enraged (if there are, in fact, two female radio personalities on two different radio/internet shows), just remember I've only listened to two or three of the Ping-Etceteran shows, usually at the end of a long, stressful day performing tasks associated with work related primarily to people, as opposed to those lucky souls who've landed jobs that let them work primarily with data, or, best of all, things, glorious things.

I'm no longer confused about the "Validation Sonar" thing, because Chemical Erik just explained it in his post, supra.
