Angry Conversations with God - Susan Isaacs on SBE

Erik Guzman May 22nd, 2009

Susan IsaacsAfter forty years of being a good Christian girl, Susan Isaacs' life fell apart. Her dad died, her mom had a stroke, her career tanked and then her boyfriend of three years left her with no house and no husband…all simultaneously.

What's a girl to do? She had a nervous breakdown, took God to couples counseling, gave Him a piece of her mind and wrote Angry Conversations with God: A Snarky but Authentic Spiritual Memoir.

Join Susan on this week's Steve Brown Etc. as we talk about her "middle-class white girl's Dark Night of the Soul" and the wonders it did for her "relationship" with God.

Then constitutional attorney and president of The Rutherford Institute, John Whitehead, stops by to give us his take on Obama and his upcoming nomination for the Supreme Court.

Thanks for having Susan on your show. Please have her on again. I thought I was the only one (since Jeremiah) that felt God had tricked me. I so related to what happened to her with one exception — I am Christian counselor — no breakdowns allowed. I had to have conversations with myself. I've had practice. I'm a professional ventriloquist as well. God really does prepare us well! Anyway, I thank God for you and your ministry. I tell all of my clients. Keep it up, White Guy.
