Clusterfuzzle - Susan Isaacs on SBE

Erik Guzman January 15th, 2010

Susan IsaacsAnne Lamott says that laughter is the carbonated form of holiness. If that's true, Susan Isaacs is an effervescent, snarky, super-saint.

Join Susan on this week's Steve Brown Etc. as we discuss the tragedy in Haiti, Pat Robertson, and we finally get the answer to the question, "If there's a good God, why does he allow so much pain and suffering?" How's that for comedy?!! Waka waka.

We also talk about Susan's current projects and, in her words, "the clusterfuzzle of being Christian and single."

Susan is a writer, actor, and comedienne with TV and film credits including Planes Trains & Automobiles, Scrooged, Seinfeld, The Drew Carey Show, My Name Is Earl and more. She is an alumnus of The Groundlings and the author of Angry Conversations with God: A Snarky but Authentic Spiritual Memoir.

This show reminded me of the old joke about the rorschach test where no matter what the rorschach image looks like, a butterfly, fish, etc the patient he says it reminds him of famous people nude and making love. The psychiatrist says to the patient "Sir, all you have on your mind is sex?" The patient replies "Well you're the one showing me the dirty pictures!" (This in no way relates to the beginning of the interview where you folks talked about Pat Robertson. The point there being, kids, see what happens when men use to much hair spray. Also, don't squeeze your eyes so much when praying.)

Ms. Isaacs, young lady, shut down your computer, iPhone, etc and just talk to the fellows. It worked just fine in my day, which are not as numbered as Steve's, and we didn't pine on and on about how we can't find a mate.

Ah, maybe you didn't ask for my opinion anyway. But mam you sound intelligent and charming so there ain't much else God can give ya. Put it to work.
