So Driscol and Young in a cage match? Well, maybe not, but at least you can have them on the show together. Since this book has generated so much buzz, it would be fun to hear someone with severe objections voice them to the author.

It's like John was implying in today's show, we focus to much on being right and not enough on being rigtheous.

As always, good work folks. Keep it up!

Thank you, thank you, thank you John Fischer!!!!…after all these years of silently (to myself) wondering about the political activism, the "evangelical " movement and the Christian music business….who does this really benefit? Why do we think we can change the course of the world, of society? Isn't the Bible pretty clear on the path we are headed down? Ever since the fall of Adam the route has been set…we are not going to get better, we are headed toward destruction. And where in the New Testament does Christ provide any role model, instruction, or directive toward all of this political activism. If anything he pointed us away from it. The only thing he ever mentioned was taxes. And he basically said "give to the government what belongs to the government" and the implication is…then "leave well enough alone" All of our political involvement isn't going to change the course of mankind's final end. Yes we are the salt and we bring what little good and light there is to the earth and we should be doing so by feeding the poor, healing hearts and souls and building up the kingdom. Which I think is the real root of the problem. Christians somewhere along the way got the kingdoms confused. We started trying to fix this kingdom instead of investing the one the world cannot see!! Instead we got drunk on power and the illusion that we could prove "they" were wrong and "we" were right! What a misguided use of the compassion that was placed in our hearts by the Master. I am all for the freedom that Steve preaches and definitely believe that too many churches are stuck in dogmatic legalism, but the way out is not to buy into fixing the kingdom that is of this world.
