I'm so grateful that you have the freedom and courage to address this subject of race relations (or lack thereof) in America. As a black man it is refreshing to hear white men having this discussion that black folks have every day. I'll be sure to tell my friends that there are at least two old white guys (Brown & Armstrong) that get it.

I've been listening to this show for about a year and some change and it's helped me deal with my own self righteousness and to deal with people in a way that attempts to be more accepting of others, even if they don't share the same opinion as me or for that matter, denomination. And I don't have to feel overly guilty if I don't respond in a Christlike fashion, I just admit my guilt, say sorry and move on. That being said Eric why can't White people just admit that there not experts on the Black historical experience and admit that they need to try to understand there culture, history and on a deep level try to UNDERSTAND them? If we are supposed to love our enemies how much more are we supposed to love our Black brothers and sisters? I get the impression that Steve played the devils advocate (at least I hope so) and voiced the sentiments of White Christians when dialoguing with Armstrong, and if you ask me the overarching tone is "GET OVER IT AND AND FORGIVE US ALREADY!" And you know what, that's a bad witness to the world who sometimes take there cues from Christians when it comes to dealing with people who are different or are a few levels down on the social strata. It's very arrogant stance to take if you ask me. I'm Puerto Rican so I can identify on a certain level with Blacks. Do you think it makes me feel joyous and forgiving when I look at Puerto Rico and see that all the resources are sucked out of the country and some old white dude in Kansas somewhere is reaping the rewards of his "industriousness"? And then White Christians have the nerve to tell us it's a figment of our imagination, that it's our corrupt, incompetent leaders who cause all of our problems and that they have to go down there to save us from ourselves! That's why America is in the state she's in , because Christians don't have the moral courage it takes to speak truth to power! And please don't say " If it weren't for us white Christians Blacks would still be slaves and the Puerto Ricans would still be barefoot barbarians in the mountains!" We would have been ok without Christians trying to make good white Christians out of us believe me. By the way Eric Mr. Armstrong was well informed and his sincerity came across as very authentic. And tell Steve that the show awesome!! Thatnk's for letting me air out and God bless you guys!!

Eric why can't White people just admit that there not experts on the Black historical experience and admit that they need to try to understand there culture, history and on a deep level try to UNDERSTAND them?

If this hasn't been done, please let me be the first. I'm no expert on the black historical experience and I need to try to understand their culture and history. I'm not being snarky. Seriously…I don't know jack about the issue except what I see and hear in the media. That's sad. I'm not proud of that.

On the program, I too think Armstrong had some good things to say and I appreciate the perspective.
