Rapture Ready! - Daniel Radosh on SBE

Erik Guzman June 20th, 2008

"Theres no place like home. Theres no place like home."Daniel Radosh joins us on this edition of Steve Brown Etc. for a funny and enlightening conversation about his book, Rapture Ready! Adventures in the Parallel Universe of Christian Pop Culture.

Use one of the options below to listen.

As much as you may not want to admit it, if you're a Christian, you've done your part to support a $7 billion dollar a year industry that pumps out everything from thong panties with stop signs on them (to promote chastity) to Christian music to Bibles.

What does that world look like to a secular New York Jew? Check out the show and buy the book to find out.

This is the first time I have listened to Steve Brown etc. It was so well refreshing. The interview was great and I will for sure listen again.

I really appreciated this interview. I long ago stopped attending christian concerts and buying CDs at the local "Good Book" store, and have at times felt guilty about it. Glad to know I'm absolved. ;D Having left commercialized Christianity behind, I forget at times just why the world at large laughs at evangelicals. I think a book like this is a good instrument to steer us towards more authentic expressions of our faith. Keep up the good work!
