Listened to today's show. It appears with the joking that 'sin' is a funny thing?
Have you tried reading chapter six of Romans - you know the Bible - that book that claims to be from God - that's what Jesus claimed!
Yes, we all sin - but should we glory in it? Christ says He is out advocate. He stands ready to forgive us when we from the heart ask Him for that forgiveness. What is the direction of our lives, that's the point.
It seems that the Title (a teaser) is simply there to sell the book!
Your show - from an acknowledged cursory hearing - doesn't seem to be very honorable.
I'm sure you'll dismiss this as just an opinion of a 'judgmental' person.

Well, one thing that's wrong with today's Christianity is that there are a lot of self-righteous, Pharisaical, humor-deficient zealots who condemn everyone and everything that isn't as dour and legalistic as they are, and don't realize that their sin of pride is just as serious as the sins they point out in the lives of others. That's a pretty serious problem in the Church, I think we can all agree …

Those miffed at Falsani should argue with Luther - "sin boldly" originating with him. Paul stated it even more clearly, "Where sin increased, grace increased all the more…" Grace is simply bigger than sin; strangely, according to Paul, this is not excuse to sin but motivation to live righteously "in accordance with the Spirit." But therein lies the nub of the problem: righteous according to the Spirit is vastly different than righteous acording to Lutheran, Calvinist, or Arminian dogma. N.T. Wright allows light shine in when he says, "Paul is very tolerant of differences on some points (particularly food, drink and holy days) and completely intolerant on others (particularly sexual ethics)." Amazingly, Wright recognizes with Paul that God draws a line in the sand on sin very sparingly: 10 commandments reduced to two by Jesus. If we love God with all our heart and our neighbor as ourselves, being enabled to do so by the Spirit, we do well. Grace covers the rest.

I enjoyed the interview and look forward to reading her work — 3 cheers for her stand in her journalistic venue — and I concur with our modern Cephas — if we sin boldly, we recognize the depth and depravity of our sin, and take it not lightly — and re the President's faith; how can his 'fruit' indicate any degree of righteous faith, e.g., (among others) if he has voted 3 times to allow Doctors to chase little newborns around the 'abortion delivery' room to kill them after they have survived the dirty deed? (description not my origin but Ann Coulter, not a winsome apologist for the faith)

Does one become self-righteous when one criticizes self-righteousness? If so, then I be one.

However, I thought she sounded self-righteous during the interview. Even Dr. Brown caught it when he asked her, "How do we avoid becoming self-righteous in these situations?" She hesitated and then tried to get out of the mess she made.

I did not like the way she sounded, although I will try not to pre-judge her or the book she wrote (even though I may have already done so).
