The Church & Politics - Tony Campolo on SBE

Erik July 18th, 2008

Our Favorite Lib.Our Favorite Lib., Tony Campolo, joins us on this edition of Steve Brown Etc. to give us the latest on his efforts to represent pro-lifers “to the highest members of the Democratic Party.” Use one of the options below to listen.

Mr. Campolo has been appointed to the Democratic Party's platform committee and he says Democratic officials are open to hearing his argument that abortion is a human rights issue. We talk about that and the need for Christians to "speak truth to power" in both the Democratic and Republican parties.

Tony Campolo is a speaker, sociologist, pastor, social activist and author of 35 books, his most recent being Red Letter Christians: A Citizen’s Guide to Faith and Politics.

Steve, I really appreciate your program. I am a missionary in Trinidad and listen to you faithfully. I enjoy listening to Tony Compolo. You do need to have him on more often. Our whole focus of ministry has changed in Trinidad through listening to Tony on your broadcast. We began to focus on mercy ministry to the poor throught MTW medical teams and providing food, clothing etc..to the poor communities. God has caused our church to grow and flouish! Thanks for having him on and thanks for your work in the kingdom! BTW: I am originally from Miami, Florida and remember you when you were pastor at Key Biscayne and a former student of RTS, Orlando.

Now that the Democratic Platform has been published and they gone completely radical regarding abortion, I wonder what Tony Compolo has to say about it and would he still support Obama?
