I would like more information about Paul Young. What is Paul Youngs personal belief in God. What church does he attend.What type work does he do.

Heard enough about this book to know I wasn't interested. Period. And then … and then … an older woman approached me at church one Sunday and said, "You have to read this book!" I politely thanked her as I rushed off to pick up a copy of my own pastor's newest book, just in from the publisher.

I watched him pull a copy out of a box full of brand new books from under a table in a darkened office. Imagine my surprise when I got home and found these words handwritten on the inside of the back cover: The Shack - Author -

My father's name, by the way, is William Young. No natural relation, but my, oh! my, I see the supernatural one.

It took two months before I realized that my invitation to read The Shack was nearly identical to the one Mack received from Papa in the book.

Just so you know, Papa's handwriting is definitely feminine.

My friends have repeatedly come to me, separate friends on separate occasions, begging me to read the Shack, knowing I would love it. I hesitated because they wouldn't tell me too much, and I knew it was about abuse, and I am careful what kinds of books I read due to my past abuses and depression, so I resisted. They assured me I would love it. A couple years passed and I continued to resist. Then my husbands friend sent him the book to read, so I picked it up and read it. Some people experience a paradigm shift as their experience. Mine was a celebration, a joy of experiencing the fellowship that another has found God to be so much more than we ever imagined, kind of what I feel like when I listen to Steve Brown!! I related to this book soooo much, I did not believe it was fiction, this guy couldn't know these things about God without actually having experienced Papa!! Paul Young put into a story what I have experienced Papa and Christ and the Holy Spirit to be. It blew me away. I cried and rejoiced throughout the whole thing. This book could only be Divinely inspired, it tells the secrets that every follower of Christ will come to know if they surrender to Him. I can't stop talking about and sharing this book!!!!

I wonder why you, Steve, did not address the inaccuracies in the representation of God in this book. examples would be Joseph Youssef, Norm Geisler and others. reviews found here: http://alwaysreformingtoscripture.blogspot.com/2009/03/shack-inspection.html
And the universalism references??? If I am not supposed to use my backround and the Bible as a filter for those inputs in my life what am I supposed to use?? I did read the book. I have issues with this story and its message.
