My Vote

Steve Brown March 5th, 2008

I haven't decided how I'm going to vote.

Wait!

That's a lie!

It's generally said by people who either 1) don't have political opinions or convictions, 2) don't want to offend and/or 3) suffer from the malady of perfectionism. I'm opinionated, offensive and, given my proclivity to screw things up, it would be insane for me to be a perfectionist.

So, I'm going to vote Republican. Okay? I'm going to pull the lever for McCain … (Read More)

Ralph Nader – Real American Hero

Erik Guzman March 4th, 2008

With voters going to the polls in four states today, the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination hangs in the balance.

Despite the Clinton vs. Obama slug fest in the primaries, they really do have a lot in common. One thing on which they agree is that Ralph Nader's fourth bid for the White House could hurt the Democratic nominee's chances in November.

Well, for that reason alone, I think conservatives across our great country will cheer me as I say, "G … (Read More)

Politician's Promise

Erik Guzman February 19th, 2008

Politicians throw promises around in election years like Frisbees.

No one will soon forget this one from George H.W. Bush, "Read my lips: No new taxes." Or how about Bill Clinton's promised middle class tax cut in 1992, or Nixon's 1968 pledge to quickly end the Vietnam War? Not to mention George W. Bush's promise in 2000 that the military wouldn't be used for nation building.

I'm sure 2008 will prove to be no different. Let's … (Read More)

Mitt Romney said WHAT?!?!?

Terry Mattingly February 4th, 2008

This is, methinks, why God created weblogs.

There's quite a bit of buzz out there right now in evangelical circles about a series of informational videos that are up and running at CitizenLink.org – which is part of the wider kingdom linked to an activist by the name of James Dobson. The videos feature clips of recent webcasts with Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council.

Right now, everyone is asking – will Dobson endorse either (gasp) Mitt Romney … (Read More)

Hold the Sticker

Steve Brown January 29th, 2008

I'm writing this from Florida.

So?

It's primary day in Florida. Given that I'm a good citizen, a committed Christian, want to set a good example and think that voting is important, later today I'm going to go and vote.

If you know me, I'm probably the most opinionated person you know. If there is an issue, I have a conviction about it. It's my nature. I've always known who I would vote for weeks in advance and have, on occasion, do … (Read More)

McCain Campaign Song

Erik Guzman January 16th, 2008

After a strong showing in New Hampshire, John McCain lost Michigan to Mitt Romney last night. Now it's off to South Carolina for the primary there.

McCain told supporters in Charleston, "For a minute there in New Hampshire, I thought this campaign might be getting easier, but you know what? We've gotten pretty good at doing things the hard way, and I think we've shown them, we don't mind a fight."

You tell 'em Big Mac! It's th … (Read More)
