Etcetera – 07.02.08 – Life and Death

Erik Guzman July 3rd, 2008

This week on Etcetera, The Comedy Ninja and The Spastic Mystic joined me in the studio for a ride down the Internet Stream of Collective Consciousness. That's my silly way of saying my friends Matt and Sharon stopped by and we recorded a conversation that seemed directed by a Mind beyond ourselves.

I was all prepared to talk about my recent fascination with death (and birth as the beginning and end of death). Then, Matt gave us the update on the impending arrival … (Read More)

Kiss that Demon on the Lips

Erik Guzman October 1st, 2007

Pain is a demon we run from as fast as we can. That's one of the reasons we aren't free. Jesus hangs out around pain and when we run from it, we run from Him.

On this week's Scandalous Freedom Podcast, Steve proposes a counterintuitive approach to dealing with pain (and the fear that it may come)… Don't run away. Run toward it. Face it. Then embrace that demon and kiss it on the lips. If you do, Jesus will be there to set you free.

Thanks For The Buffoonery…

Three plus years, two show time changes, and (approximately) 140 episodes have led to this… the end of Etcetera.

Jerry Falwell (1933-2007)

Steve Brown May 16th, 2007

Jerry Falwell died yesterday.

I ought to say something about him, but one wonders what in the world one can say.

Almost anything.

Christopher Hitchens, an atheist who says really dumb things and doesn't know it, said that he wished there was a hell and that Falwell was there.

Tony Campolo talked about Falwell's graciousness to Tony's wife Peggy.

Mel White, the gay guy who came out of the closet after he had written Falwell's autobiography (maybe Go … (Read More)

Someday We All Must Die

Erik Guzman May 16th, 2007

This week, it's Buffoonery vs. Death on the no-holds-barred cage match of podcasting that is Etcetera. I don't want to give too much away, but let me say this … talking about taking a dirt nap has never been so fun. I actually spewed coffee.

Join me and Matt, along with Fancy Geoff, Zondervan Mark, and the always hilarious Marshall brothers (Dorsey kills me) as we bid farewell to Falwell and then get to planning our ideal deaths.

And speaking of kickin … (Read More)
