Joel Osteen, Pat Robertson, Ted Haggard, and Jerry Falwell are not cool (although Falwell is cooler now than he was before May 15, 2007).

We here at Steve Brown Etc. aren't cool either, but we do like to interview the hip in the body of Christ. (Get it? Hip? In the body? Yeah…I'm definitely not cool.)

Jay Bakker spent some time talking with Steve before his mom passed away. They discussed Tammy Faye's struggle with cancer and her expression of the Spirit of Jesus on "The Surreal Life." Revolution Church, homosexuality, Jim Bakker, grace, and Jay's forgiveness of Jerry Falwell were also covered.

Almost anything.

Christopher Hitchens, an atheist who says really dumb things and doesn't know it, said that he wished there was a hell and that Falwell was there.

Tony Campolo talked about Falwell's graciousness to Tony's wife Peggy.

Mel White, the gay guy who came out of the closet after he had written Falwell's autobiography (maybe Go … (Read More)

This week, it's Buffoonery vs. Death on the no-holds-barred cage match of podcasting that is Etcetera. I don't want to give too much away, but let me say this … talking about taking a dirt nap has never been so fun. I actually spewed coffee.

Join me and Matt, along with Fancy Geoff, Zondervan Mark, and the always hilarious Marshall brothers (Dorsey kills me) as we bid farewell to Falwell and then get to planning our ideal deaths.

And speaking of kickin … (Read More)
