I participated in their World View Forum where I debated Shane Claiborne on the subject of civil disobedience. Shane is the author of a number of books including The Irresistible Revolution and Common Prayer: A Liturgy for Ordinary Radicals. Shane Claiborne is an ordinary radical whose community, The Simple Way, is in extraordinary trouble.

Shane stopped by Steve Brown Etc. this week to talk about the 7-alarm blaze that destroyed The Simple Way's community center. In addition to being Shane's home, it was home to their afterschool program, community arts center, and Cottage Printworks t-shirt micro-business.

I got up this morning and started to replace the Shane Claiborne interview with this week's edition of The Brown Sessions. I didn't get far before I came across a comment and this post from Mike informing us that Shane's neighborhood in Kensington was consumed by a massive fire yesterday. Thanks for the heads up, Mike.
