I was recently at Malone University in Canton, Ohio.

I participated in their World View Forum where I debated Shane Claiborne on the subject of civil disobedience. Shane is the author of a number of books including The Irresistible Revolution and Common Prayer: A Liturgy for Ordinary Radicals. Shane Claiborne – On Fire for Jesus

Shane Claiborne is an ordinary radical whose community, The Simple Way, is in extraordinary trouble.

Shane stopped by Steve Brown Etc. this week to talk about the 7-alarm blaze that destroyed The Simple Way's community center. In addition to being Shane's home, it was home to their afterschool program, community arts center, and Cottage Printworks t-shirt micro-business.

Shane Claiborne's Community Burns

I got up this morning and started to replace the Shane Claiborne interview with this week's edition of The Brown Sessions. I didn't get far before I came across a comment and this post from Mike informing us that Shane's neighborhood in Kensington was consumed by a massive fire yesterday. Thanks for the heads up, Mike.
