"I'll hold the phones and the wallets."

Erik January 16th, 2008

A guy named Chad (see pic) came over this week to talk with me, Mark, and Mr. Wood about chucking his life in the States and traveling all over the world (over 37 countries) for the past 2 years with something called The World Race.

If you've been listening to our show for a while and you've forgotten what a good Christian sounds like, this program is a nice reminder.

Chad is living a radical life of helping those in need and giving them the hope of the Gospel. Quite the contrast … (Read More)

Monkeys with Sticks

Erik January 9th, 2008

[ping] is back…old and unimproved for 2008!

This podcast is like mom's meatloaf. It may not be perfect and it's not for everyone, but for those in the family, it's comfort food. Why mess with delicious mediocrity?

If you've never listened, it can take some time to warm up to the show, but give it a try. Before long, I bet it'll feel like sitting around with old friends having a good meal.

And if you don't like meatloaf, bring your favorite side dish. Y … (Read More)

[ping]ing in the New Year

Erik December 19th, 2007

I submit for your approval, the last [ping] podcast of '07. What a year! Mother Internet has been good to us.

We merged the old [ping] blog with SteveBrownEtc.com. We witnessed the death and birth of a podcast. The Mini-Me World Tour reached new levels of creative buffoonery. We raised a bunch of money for the disabled in Central Florida. We stayed in touch with old friends and made some new ones. And dang it all to heck, we had fun. I just wish my brother Matt was here.

On many lev … (Read More)

SmashingGoulet

Erik August 15th, 2007

You heard it here first. Now see it for the first time. The guitar solo from Smashing Pumpkins' "Cherub Rock" and Will Ferrell as Robert Goulet sync up perfectly! Here's video proof of the purity of SmashingGoulet![youtube]http://youtube.com/watch?v=otyj8dJ6OZ4[/youtube]

Tantric Filibuster

Erik August 8th, 2007

You could call it a happening. It started as an incredibly bad episode of Etcetera and ended up as a 1 hour and 50 minute game of chicken.

This week's show was so horrible, by the end I dared Matt to keep going. He accepted the dare and the rest is history. I'd say, "The rest is podcasting history," but only half of it was recorded. However, most of it was streamed live.

There were at least three witnesses to this "non-podcast," Señor Jefe, Dorsey, and M … (Read More)

Smells Like Freedom, Bisque!

Erik July 4th, 2007

If Etcetera has proven anything over the years, it's this…freedom is messy. It isn't pretty, but it sure is better than the alternative (and a whole lot more fun).

Join us this week as we celebrate the 4th by once again cracking open a bottle of buffoonery and toasting to liberty.

Happy birthday, America. God bless the hell out of ya!
